About Halal K-Food
Halal K-Food is an independent guide that helps Muslim readers enjoy Korean food with confidence. Korean cuisine is exploding in popularity, but it is often unclear which dishes are halal, which contain pork or alcohol, and how to verify a specific brand or restaurant. We close that gap with clear, sourced explanations in English and Bahasa Indonesia.
What we do — and what we do not
We are not a certification body and we do not issue halal rulings. Instead, we act as a guide: we explain ingredients, common substitutions, and the practical steps you can take to confirm whether a dish or product is halal for you — such as checking for a recognized certification (for example LPPOM MUI in Indonesia) or asking a vendor directly. Final decisions always rest with you and the certifying authorities you trust.
How we research
Every article is built on a verified research note that records primary sources before any guide is written. We prioritize official certifier statements, manufacturer ingredient disclosures, and reputable reporting. Sources are listed at the bottom of each article so you can check them yourself. When a dish's status depends on the brand or recipe, we say so explicitly rather than giving a blanket "halal" or "haram" label.
